There's no such thing as a quality RV anymore !! They are all the same they're all built lightweight the chassis that they use are also super lightweight specifically for RVs

Quality control in the RV industry has become increasingly poor over the past 25 years. While there are RV builders (a small minority) who dedicate their focus to QC, the majority fall pitifully short. As a result the entire RV industry is now suffering a severe decline in sales, corresponding to the severe decline in trust by the consumers. Further, buying a used RV is now deemed akin to buying somebody else's leprosy. The chickens have come home to roost. It's going to be a terrible uphill battle for the RV industry to regain consumer confidence. Several, perhaps most, will fail.

Liz, we consumers should boycott any new RV purchase for the next few years. Then they might get the message that we are fed up with poor quality and lack of support.

She should have contacted an attorney the moment the cut frame was found. She is behind the curve on this one. Unless Thor’s representative is bringing a check to purchase the vehicle back, they will likely place her in a worse position and gain control of her vehicle. With all the horror stories all over the internet, I have no clue why anyone would purchase a new RV.

I couldn't disagree more! Maybe they owned the RV before the dealer arranged to have it delivered but it seems dubious because they did not sign the paperwork at the dealer. Anyway, even if they did own the RV at the time that the dealer arranged transport driver wrecked it, none of this was their fault and they need to be made whole by the responsible parties.

Seen a few buddies buy one for one reason or another, all of them had issues. These things look nice but don’t work for more than a week.

Rule number 1 Never Ever Ever Never Ever Buy any RV with a slide

Typical RV dealer. Really can't trust the dealerships. We got lucky with General RV... the finance manager provided his phone number so if we have an issue we call or txt him AND he responds. However, we have not had the issues that many are seeing. We purchased a Keystone Montana and after hearing so many horror stories about other brands, I'm not sure I'd buy anything but Keystone Montana. Riverstone and Grand Design seem to have tons of issues. The other thing we see is that Thor is buying up everyone and within a year, whomever they buy starts turning out junk. Thor bought Keystone so we'll see how long it takes for their quality to go in the dumper.

Assuming the trailer was repaired to new condition, then they could offer to compensate their customers for screwing around with their RV by giving them the fair rental value of that unit times the number of days the couple was without its use. THAT would constitute fair compensation. If they want to make the potential future buyers have confidence, then of course they should “stand behind” their customers by buying the defective unit back, and promising everyone that no future models would leave the assembly area without being inspected to catch these egregious defects.

If Jayco doesn't refund or replace with another trailer....Sue them and everyone else should boycott Jayco

Per your request - here is the email I sent out to the REV Group. I am looking to purchase a new RV in the next year. As a single older female, I do not want to deal with the quality control problems that seem to pervade your company, and your apparent indifference to good customer service. I want an RV that is not going to spend all its time at the dealer service center trying to get problems fixed from chronically faulty manufacturing. I follow RV RUclips channels from people like LIZ AMAZING and others. It is apparent that the products you sell are just your company grifting its customers. No thanks. Looking elsewhere and wanted you to know it is your poor quality and unwillingness to make it right that are causing you to lose customers. Even a popular RUclipsr like Matt is not enough to shield you from the consequences of shoddy workmanship and worthless warranties. And I have asked my congressional representatives to legislatively address the lack of a lemon law to protect customers in the RV industry.'

You are so right I bought an extended warranty with my Dodge from a automotive company in as soon as it had a EGR problem they did not warranty at 9:00 paid $2,000 for it but Auto shield is actually a good warranty they warrantied my wife's Jeep to the cylinder head on it without a link

You should know that Grand design are junk there is so many bad reviews on it my brother bought one and I've been talking about it they are junk just because Winnebago owns them and it's a conglomerate they don't give a s*** they are junk have a nice day

This is the same thing that happened with weekend warrior their frames were busy and then they got sued there was a class action lawsuit on weekend warrior all they did was change the name for oh you know what this is and they do the same junk

Same thing happened with my 2014 sprinter trailer it had another brand frame on it the frame broke in half and I was actually able to trade it in they said nothing but I still had to pay the trailer off to get rid of it I bought a hideout which is a really nice trailer I did not get the fiberglass siding because that's why I had to get rid of that trailer the fiberglass siding is junk for me

These are 2x the cost of a traditional trailer, and maybe 3x if you factor in size. I'd love to have one but simply cannot afford it. I can afford a Casita (similar build) but they are absolutely tiny. So, I'm back to Winnebago, Keystone, Jayco, etc. So yes, too good to be true.

The trailer will never be right have them put it on the lemon law which you can do that you have to get rid of it on the lemon law and have to show these people that this is not right what they're doing you are a consumer you worked your whole life for this if you paid $180,000 for that you got f***** my friend this is a bummer for you and I wish it on nobody

My brother bought a imagine one year ago and it's a Winnebago spin-off type trailer and it is a pile of s*** it has been in the RV maintenance repair area 45 * 8 004 ft long it leaks water the frame is bent the slide out stopped working and all they've done is give him mumbo and jumbo and he paid 45 Grand for it he got f***Grand design are junk whoever is building them which is a spin-off of Winnebago are f****** the consumer have a nice day

To not even remove the paper from the double sided sealing tape. OMG this means the people putting it together have ZERO experience. Same crew more than likely has made many other RV's Imagine if they have an entire years production line all messed up.

I don't understand why anyone would buy an rv. How many nights in a typical air bnb would 30k buy? With an rv, you have no warranty laws like you do with vehicles. But, you have multiple companies putting components in them. It's like you're getting all the headaches of home ownership and car ownership rolled into one, with no consumer protection laws. Really guys, who in their right mind buys these things?

I say it in every single one of these videos, we have to stop buying new RVs! With the money you spend on a new one, you can buy one that was built pre-covid and update whatever you need to update and still save money. Personal note on this specific floor plan, and many others like it- What are they thinking? I understand weight restrictions and all of that but if other RV manufacturers can do it, they can all do it- stop putting the sofa in the kitchen and the dinette in the living room! When I sit down on the sofa I don't want to be looking at my refrigerator and my stove- and who in their right mind would put a TV screen next to a cooktop? THAT'S going to be a joy to keep clean. 😅 If everyone stops saying, "Good Enough", and stops giving them the hundreds of thousands of dollars that these RVs cost now, things will change because they have to, or tha mfrs will simply go broke. I also think it's time for lawsuits, whether class action or individual- if they have to put enough money out at the back end they'll start putting it out at the front end instead. It won't happen overnight but again, if we stop buying these rolling garbage cans, they'll stop building them.

I think your a great woman. Protecting all R.V consumers present and future. I hope you stay strong and continue being a rock in the shoe of these subpar R.V manufacturers. I also think you are nice looking. 😻

I Don't get it...why don't these manufacturers have quality checkers for structural strength n do the job right the first time instead of getting recalled for bullshit damage when it left the factory....what do we have here? Ex Boeing employees left over.....

It's time people start paying for an inspector that specializes in RVs before they purchase one.

Why don't people take their time on the walkthrough with the dealer. Why would you buy and take it home before most of this stuff being fixed.

Liz, in your video just after 9:50, you included some "B" roll that showed a row of Outdoors RV trailers, which had nothing to do with the customer's issues. As the owner of a new Outdoors RV, we've not experienced a high failure rate or customer dissatisfaction. In fact, our experience has been extremely positive. Please be careful when using B-roll. It implies that these trailers are involved.

Get a barronium motorcycle lock. They are expensive, but impossible to cut through with a portable angle grinder. The steel chains, however, can be cut through in no time at all.

Grayson Kentucky is well known for doing this kind of stuff. I drive thru there 4 to 5 times a year, every time I see cars and trucks pulled over. I myself received a speeding ticket for going 1 MPH over posted limit. I had to take my truck in to dealer to have speedometer checked. According to the report, they found it to be 3 MPH off, on the slow side. Since I had my cruise control set at the posted speed limit, I was actually going 3 MPH under the limit not 1 MPH over it. I went to court, won the case, the cop told me next time he sees my truck he's going to pull me over and find drugs and guns in it. I laughed in his face, go ahead and try it, see what happens. Doesn't know I transport military weapons and ammunition routinely. I can't wait for him to try it!!

We have to hit them in the pocket, it's the only way things are going to change. Stop buying the new RVs, end of story. There are plenty of used RVs for sale, and with the money you'd spend on a new one, you can easily buy an older unit and remodel or update whatever you need to. Then, everyone needs to start filing lawsuits. Bury them in lawsuits and settlements, and maybe they'll start spending the money at the front end instead of after the sale. I had planned on paying cash for a new rig of some kind, I'm still trying to decide what's right for me but at this point I'm going with used- you couldn't give me an RV that was manufactured in the last 6-8 years. Covid caused this- everyone wanted to hit the road and the manufacturers couldn't keep up, they flat out told us they could not keep up- once they saw how cheaply they could roll these out the door and people would still buy them, why go back to building quality rigs? Apparently people are happy to buy garbage so they'll just continue to sell us garbage. I'm certainly not directing my comments at this lovely couple, it's just so frustrating! No matter what you buy, these are not cheap! Not only that, but a large number of people buying these are older, They aren't physically able to do a lot of these repairs that Russ did himself. A lot of buyers are women, and even men that might not have the knowledge and experience to make these repairs themselves in the middle of nowhere with a piece of bubble gum and some dental floss, hoping to get to the next authorized service center. Enough is enough! Thank you Liz for allowing your channel to be the voice of these buyers that have clearly been taken advantage of and are now being ignored. Thank you for putting yourself out there- apparently at great risk- and for not backing down when dealers try to shut you up. We have to stick together guys, and as much as we all want to hit the road and live our best lives, we can't do it parked at a repair shop or stuck thousands of miles from home.
